Auto Gas Kills Man Sitting in His Car
Benjamin Arne, 52, of 1036 Forty-sixth st. was found dead sitting at the wheel of his automobile in a garage at the rear of his residence, at 10 p.m. Tuesday. Death apparently was due to monoxide gas poisoning.
Mr. Arne left his home at 8 a.m. Tuesday for work and was not seen until his wife discovered his body Tuesday night. Mrs. Arne worried about the husband in the evening when he did not return home and started a search for him which ended in the garage.
The death was declared accidental by police and members of the coroner's office who investigated Tuesday night.
Mr. Arne was a salesman for the Sexton Manufacturing Co.
