Albert was born to David C. Bloomfield and Sarah Shockey in Parke Co., IN. The family moved to Vermillion Co., IL in 1866. He married Indiana "Anna" Barwick Aug 17, 1876 in Vermillion Co., IL. They were the parents of Dora, Guy, Erma, Sarah, Elma, Effie, & Baird. He was preceded in death by Dora (died in IL), Sarah, and Baird. Albert arrived in NE in Nov. 1881 where he bought a quarter section of railroad land and built a dugout for his home. His family arrived in 1882. Albert was a farmer, a school teacher, a county clerk of Kearney Co., NE. and a real estate agent before he died.
Indiana died in 1902 and he married Anna Grothman in 1906 who helped raise his children.
