Mildred Josephine Jacobson Linkous Dillon, 71, of the Wheatland Hills Retirement Center, Radford, VA, died early Sunday morning, February 21, 1999, in the Radford Community Hospital. She was born in Pulaski, Virginia on April 16, 1927, and was the daughter of the late William Jacobson and Sarah Frances Spence Jacobson. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Mike Robert Linkous,Sr. and Vester Dillon, Sr. She was a member of the Pulaski Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-laws, Ollie Palmer, Pulaski, Betty and Boy Branscome, Dublin, Nancy Cox, Pulaski, Linda and James Richardson, Pulaski, Charlotte and David Coleman, Fairlawn; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Ellen Linkous, Pulaski, Ronnie Linkous, Athens, Tenn., Mark Steven and Kathleen Linkous, Pulaski, Ricky Dean and Ramona Hall, Jonesboro, Tenn., Vester Dillon, Jr., Pulaski; sister, Anna Brookman, Newbern; 26 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Elder Jay Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visiting will be Tuesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The family wishes that memorials be made to the Pulaski Primitive Baptist Church, Pulaski, VA 24301.
