Poulson married Sallie Elizabeth Hall 4 Dec 1866 (see bio for wife Sallie, to see their ancestral relationship). Poulson had worked as a blacksmith (1870 census), and also was recognized as a 'local preacher' (his death certif.), and had preached at the Union Methodist Church in Rumbley (which was eventually torn down in the 1940s). One of his grandsons is named after him: Howard Poulson Miles.
