Mr. John "Candy Man" Staples, 85, of Henderson, passed away on April 11, 2015, at his residence. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2015, in the chapel of Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home with Rev. Pete Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

John was born in Davidson County, Tennessee, to the late William David and Hallie Lorene (Smith) Staples. He retired as Maintenance Supervisor for Anderson Hickey, and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anette Staples; a son, Chuck Staples; three brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Carol, of Henderson; sons: David Staples and wife, Faye, John W. Staples and wife, Donna, and James W. Staples and wife, Tammie; daughters: Evette Walton and husband, John, Ellen Jordan and husband, Roy, and Joanie Strong and husband, Joe Mark; 41 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lossie Midgett; other relatives and many friends.
