Clarice Reed, 93, of Hart, Texas passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 in Lubbock. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00AM in the First Baptist Church of Hart with Rev. Matt Baird and Rev. Richard Harbison officiating. Burial will follow in Hart Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at the funeral home.

Clarice was born on January 30, 1922 in Sweetwater, Oklahoma. Clarice had been a resident of Hart, Texas for 73 years before moving to Lubbock. She married Glyn Reed on August 30, 1940 in Plainview, Texas. Clarice was a member of First Baptist Church in Hart while serving as VBS Director, Sunday school teacher and Hospitality Director over the years and later becoming a member of Life Pointe Baptist Church in Lubbock, member of Beta Sigma Phi, Chi-Psi and the Hart Golden Group. She received the “Melvin Jones Award” through the Hart Lions Club and was Past President of the Hart Golden Group. She enjoyed sewing and cooking, - she would rather cook for 50 people than 2 people .

Clarice is survived by 1 son, Mike Reed of Pampa, 2 daughters, Nancy Reed Walker of Flower Mound, TX and Gayle Johnson and husband Larry of Lubbock, TX, 1 sister, Charlene Ayers, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Glyn Reed, 1 daughter, Karen Kay Reed and 3 brothers, Kenneth Davis, Clifton Davis and Paul Allison.
