William Gerald “Jay” Giddens, age 53, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 13, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Pickard and Dr. Brandon Furr officiating. Burial will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
Jay was a native and resident of Baldwin County and attended GMC. He worked for the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office from 1983-1994 and also for the Baldwin County Magistrate Court. He later worked at Georgia Power from 2001-2015 with the Central Georgia Hydro Unit at Wallace Dam. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Quinton “Gid” and Martha McHan Giddens. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend to all.
Survivors include his wife, Mary J. Giddens; his children: Quint Giddens, Hunter Giddens, Andy Giddens, and Claire Giddens; his brothers, Ricky Giddens (Denise) and Matt Giddens (Tara) all of Milledgeville.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions may be made to Northside Baptist Church Building Fund, 1001 N. Jefferson St. Milledgeville, GA. 31061.
