Martha Christy, 80, of Big Spring, died Wed, Apr 8, 2015 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Graveside service will be at 3 pm Sat, Apr 11, 2015 at Lubbock Co. Cemetery in Lubbock, TX.

She was born May 19, 1934 in Lubbock, TX to Joe Weatherman and Leva Power Weatherman.

She worked at the Big Spring State Hospital and as a desk receptionist at Ramada Inn and Best Western. She had been a resident of Big Spring for over 50 plus years.

She loved to bowl and was a member of Women's Bowling Congress for many years. She bowled on three leagues in the eighties and went every year to bowling tournaments in Lubbock.

She did not get out often but she loved her home and enjoyed working "Word Find Puzzles" and dearly loved her pro football games. She also loved the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos.

She is survived by her son Richard Christy and granddaughters Amanda and Michelle, niece Nancy Rawls and husband Wayne and nephews Jerry Lumpkin and wife Nyoka and Brian Weatherman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Nora Mae Lumpkin in 2007 and her brother Joe J. Weatherman in 2009.
