A lifelong resident of Murfreesboro, she was a 1939 graduate of Central High School, and a 1943 graduate of Middle Tennessee State College. A pioneer in business, she was well known for her role as the owner of Rion's Flower Shop throughout the decades, a store that was created by her mother in the 1930's, and still continues to thrive today under the direction of her son and granddaughter. She is also well known for her undying faith in God, and her dedication to First Presbyterian Church and its members, of which she dedicated more than 70 years of her life as a choir member, and continued to attend actively until the time of her demise.
She is survived by her sons Jon Moffett (Sharon) and Richard Moffett (Louise), and her daughter Liz Moffett Graves (Spencer) ; grandchildren, John R. Moffett, Kristy Graves Mall, Shela Moffett Fabri, Gail Moffett, Shareen Moffett Staples, and Russell Graves; 2 step grandchildren Michael O'Neal and Katy Locke; seven great-grandchildren and 9 step great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter and 1 step great-great grandson.
The service will be held on Friday, December 28, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. John R. Todd and Reverend Kaye Nickell officiating. A reception will be held immediately afterwards at the church.
