Sybil Walker Jenkins, a resident of Newville, died early Wednesday morning, April 8, 2015, in the UAB Hospital in Birmingham. She was 66.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, April 10, 2015, in the Omega Holiness Church, Echo Community. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, near Midland City. Holman - Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. Friday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Victory Holiness Church, 315 Highway 10, Abbeville, Alabama 36310.
Ms. Jenkins was born and reared in Dale County. She formerly lived in Midland City, Dothan and Echo before moving to Newville in 2006. Ms. Jenkins was a member of the Victory Holiness Church and a former member of the Omega Holiness Church and the Midland City Assembly of God. She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Wesley Manor Retirement Center in Dothan. Ms. Jenkins was formerly employed as a nurse at Flowers Hospital, Oakview Manor, Ozark, and the Easterling Prison in Clio. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Levita Michelle Hartzog, her father, James Daniel Walker, her mother, Ann Watson Woodham, her step-father, Junior Woodham, and a brother, Charles Douglas Walker.
