Charles Harry Hartman was the 8th out of 10 children born to Samuel Hartman and Sarah Ann Warfel in 1884.

His siblings were: Mary Rosezella, Benjamin Calvin, Frederick Philip Piper, Emery Wilmer McComas, Sarah Katherine, Samuel Edward, Emma Elizabeth, Harvey Walter, and Cora May.

Charles married Nora Ethel Darling on August 8, 1910 in Saline County, Kansas. Together they had 11 children. Sadly, Charles lost his beloved wife just a few months after she gave birth to their 11th child.

Charles lived to be 94 years old.
