CARLTON - Ira Thomas Gilliam, 83, 220 N. 6th St., a resident here since 1961, died Thursday at a McMinnville hospital.
Born in Virginia and raised in Missouri, he worked for the railroad in Missouri and in oil fields in Oklahoma, Nebraska and Nevada until retiring in 1961. Survivors are widow Lillie; son Ralph, Omaha, Nebraska ; daughter Marie Champmey, Carlton; brother William, of Carson City, Nevada; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Macy & Son mortuary, McMinnville, Rev. Lyle Willard officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, McMinnville.
