Bernie was born on May 23,1945 in Linton, North Dakota, to Balzer and Josephine (Lipp) Wagner.
She graduated in 1958 from Linton High School.
Bernie lived in Storm Lake, Iowa from 1970 to 1991.
In 1987, she graduated from Buena Vista College with a business degree. She moved to Sioux City in 1991 and worked at MCI until her retirement in 2008.
Bernie's talents included making crafts and she enjoyed attending local craft shows. She also organized and ran the pancake breakfast at the Shire Apartments. She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church.
Bernadette "Bernie" Wagner, 69 of Sioux City, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers, Jack, Pete, Eugene, Pius, Edward, William and Ruben Wagner, sister Luella Mehlhoff and an infant sister.
Left with memories are her daughters: Tami (Dennis) Dean of Austin, Minnesota; Tonya O'Brien of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; three grandchildren: Ashley, Katelyn, and Brianna; three great-grandchildren: Carter, Cash, and Ayden; her brother, Andrew (Vicki) Wagner of Bismarck, North Dakota; sisters-in-law: Cecilia, Lena and Vangie Wagner.
Visitation 4-8 pm Tuesday at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, with the family present 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday, April 1st, at Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Rieckhoff-Faris conducting the service and offering words of comfort. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.
