Donlon Philip DeLaMare, age 76, passed away on March 7, 2000 in Salt Lake City.

Born March 24, 1923 in Salt Lake City to Robert Guy and Mary Wills DeLaMare.

Married Ardith Kimball on May 5, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Donlon was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed drama.

He supported his children and grandchildren in all their activities. He served in the New Zealand/Cook Islands mission from 1945-1948 and in the England/Coventry mission with his wife from 1986-1987.

He served in many church callings and especially enjoyed being an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple.

He retired after thirty-seven years as a teacher and a principal with the Salt Lake City School District.

Donlon is survived by his wife, Ardith; daughter, Virginia (Scott) Cannon; sons, D. Philip, Jr. (Deborah), W. Kimball (Lisa), David W. (Kayla), Richard B. (Julie), Randall G. (Karen), Michael S. (Jeanette), and James A.; thirty-eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Gwen McLane and Mary Pederson; and brother, Robert. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2000 in the Garden Park Ward Chapel, 1150 East Yale Avenue. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 10, 2000 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
