Born September 24, 1938, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Jesse Lee Goodwin and Mary (Dillard) Goodwin.
Retired from Lockwood Greene Engineers with 35 years of service, he was a former president of the Whitten Center Parents Club, a Mason, a member of the Breakfast Optimist Club, a U.S. Navy Veteran, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Jeris Ann Gilliam Goodwin; two sons, Randy Goodwin of Whitten Center, and Tony Lin Goodwin and his wife Debra of Boiling Springs; a daughter, Tina Goodwin Poteat and her husband Mark of Spartanburg; a sister, Harriett Goodwin Phillips of Spartanburg; and four grandchildren.
Visitation was held at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services were held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Danny Garrett.
