Ralph W. Stover, 98, of 94 Coe Street, Tiffin, died at 8:25a.m., Friday, December 12, 2008 at the St. Francis Nursing Home in Tiffin.

Ralph was born August 29, 1910, in Rural Tiffin, to the late Joseph P. and Ollie (Baker) Stover. He married Marie (Williams) in Covington, KY on August 15, 1932 and she preceded him in death on April 15, 2005.

Other survivors include his daughter, Joan Stuckey of Rural Tiffin, sons, Donald (Christine) Stover of Rural Old Fort, Edward E. “Gene” Stover of Tiffin, John J. “Joe” (Brigitte) Stover of Melbourne, Fl, daughter-in-law, Pat Stover of Republic, and a sister, Ruth Heckerd of rural Tiffin. Ralph is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Ralph was a retired farmer who loved to be outdoors, cutting wood or working in his maple syrup camp which he ran for 30 years. He was a member of the St. Jacobs Church, a longtime supporter of the Farm Credit Assoc. where he served on the board of directors for 12 years, a former Board Member of the Seneca County Opportunity Center, a member of the Union Grange where he served as Master for many years, and also a member of Pamona and State Grange and Farm Bureau. Ralph was an avid square dancer and was a square dance caller for 70 years.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 72 years, a son, James, brother, Carl Stover and a son-in-law Lucas Stuckey.

Funeral services will be at 10:30a.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Tiffin with the Rev. Mark Booster officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, from 2-4 and 6-8p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Tuesday at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jacobs Church or Community Hospice Care.
