GAINESBORO Services for Robert B. Birdwell, 90, of the Antioch Community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held Thursday, May 11, at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Interment will be in Rash Cemetery.
Mr. Birdwell died Monday, May 8, 2006, in Jackson County.
He was born December 25, 1915, in Jackson County to the late Sewell and Pearlie Medlin Birdwell.
He was a farmer and a longtime elder of Antioch Church of Christ. Mr. Birdwell served in CC Camp during the 1930s. He was also a former county committeeman of the Farmers Home Administration.
On April 17, 1937; He married the former Maggie Burgess, who died September 17, 1998.
His family includes two sons and daughtersinlaw,Bobby and Phyllis Birdwell, and Jimmy and Ann Birdwell all of Tennessee; three daughters and two sonsinlaw, Stella and Lindel Anthony of Arkansas, Peggy and Charles Sullivan, and Dorothy Jones all of Tennessee; a brother, Ermon C. Birdwell of Tennessee; three sisters, Ola V. Fox of Tennessee, Nola Birdwell of Indiana and Ila Mae Anderson of Tennessee; nine grandchildren, Karen Lance and husband Donnie, Lisa Hartman and husband Jimmy, Michael Anthony, Robert Sullivan and wife Emily, Mike Birdwell and wife Diane, Susan Turk and husband Robert, Lee Birdwell and wife Joei, Amy Baker and husband Ron, and Kim Jones and husband Brandon; and 11 greatgrandchildren, Daniel, Jeremy and Hannah Lance, Emma Grace Baker, Jessica and Alex Sullivan, Brawley Turk, Braden Jones, and Ashley, Jenna and Gage
Anthony.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two infant sons; two brothers, Odes and William Birdwell; and a soninlaw, Kelley Jones.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be men of the Antioch Church of Christ and Drs. E.M. Dudney, Doug Dycus and Stacey Brewington.

Bros. Johnny Fox and Kenneth Anderson will officiate the services.
