He retired as store manager from Food Land; was a U.S. Army Veteran; member of Calvary Baptist Church in Concord where he was a deacon and taught Sunday school. Calvin was a devoted father and grandfather, loved his family and his Lord. He enjoyed watching his children play sports.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Mark (Debbie) Coleman of Concord, Adam (Susan) Coleman, Greg (Lolly) Coleman and Julie Coleman all of Lynchburg, seven grandchildren, Kelly Jones, Andrew Coleman, Taylor Coleman, Noah Coleman, Lee Coleman, Aiden Coleman, Jeffrey Brown and a great granddaughter, Alexis Jones.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in Calvary Baptist Church by Pastor Chad Harris and the Rev. Frank Casper, Sr. with burial to follow in New Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 16.The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at Heritage Funeral Service, 427 Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg.
