MARCELLA R. ZYCH
Marcella R. Zych, age 82, a resident of Rivers Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center,
Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon, January 31, 2003 at the center. Funeral services
will be held at 6:00 pm Monday, February 3, 2003 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic
Community, Newton. Officiating at the service will be Rev. David Beaudry with burial
at St. Casimir Church Cemetery, Northeim.
Marcella was born July 2, 1920 in the town of Eaton, Manitowoc County, daughter of
the late Gottfried and Agnes Schramm Schuler. On October 27, 1945 she married
Stephen J. Zych at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. He preceded her in
death on January 9, 1977.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Zych, Thomas and Rachel
Zych, all of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Allan Vander Bloomen,
Manitowoc; three grandchildren, Christine Vander Bloomen, Allan Vander Bloomen, Jr.,
Jennifer and Patrick Schfiffman, two great grandchildren, Steve Propson and Sally
Propson; a sister, Petronella Schneider, Manitowoc and a sister-in-law, Marion
Schuler, Chilton. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was
also preceded in death by three sisters, Clara Kautzer, Leona Brumeier and Florentine
Backhaus; and three brothers, Edmund Schuler, Arnold Schuler and Herbert Schuler.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic
Community, Newton on Monday evening from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family
with funeral arrangements.
