Married first Abigail B. Elmore 31 Jan 1861 in Martin County. They had two children James Lane and Abigail Jane. Crook served in Co F of the 65th Indiana Infantry during the Civil War. He enrolled on 05 Aug 1862 at Trinity Springs and mustered out on 22 Jun 1865 at Greensboro, N.C. He married Nancy Davis 19 Oct 1874. They had four children William Crook, Howard, Thomas Jonathon and Nora. The family appears in Ripley County, Missouri in 1880. As Post Master, Crook Love closed the Shoal's Post Office 31 Aug 1903.
