Gwendolyn drove a school bus for Vernon Parish Schools at Simpson and subbed for other drivers. She worked at Gibson's in Leesville and the Post Exchange at Fort Polk. She was a jack of all trades and a master of none she would say. She loved doing crafts, hunting, pets, especially her dog Miracle, quilting, woodwork, crochet, oil painting, and a number of other things when she could. She loved reading her bible and she preached to everyone about God. When her parents were living she would go and sing and pick on the guitar and fiddle, whether it was the right note or not. Everyone enjoyed and sang along.
Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her parents: Bill & Lucy Cooley.
