MONTAGUE, NJ — John L. Staudt of Montague, NJ, a retired farmer and longtime area resident, died Saturday, December 5 in Mercy Community Hospital in Port Jervis. He was 92.
Son of John and Elizabeth Pantesz Staudt, he was born June 25, 1906, in Clifton, NJ. He was the widower of Mildred Wilkinson and Ethel "Abbie" Petty. He was a graduate of Upsala College in E. Orange and was a member of St. James the Greater R.C. Church in Montague. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Patricia Walsh of Layton; a son, Lawrence J. of Paul, ID; a brother, Ernest of Montague; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, Christina and John Staudt; and a sister, Anna. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. James the Greater Roman Catholic Church in Montague.
