Louis Ashenbrener (sic), 88, formerly of 1311 Washington St., Manitowoc, a resident of Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc, died early Friday morning.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
The Very Rev. Msgr. Alfred A. Schneider will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Ashenbrener was born Nov. 10, 1881, in Bavaria, son of the late Anton and Monica Daug Ashenbrener. He came to the United States as a child with his parents, and they settled at Manitowoc. He married Matilda Scheuer June 12, 1907. She preceded him in death Dec. 8, 1952. Prior to his retirement in 1948 he had been employed for 29 years at Manitowoc Dispatch.
Survivors include three sons, Byron of Two Rivers, Alois of Whitelaw and John of Manitowoc; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Rathsack and Mrs. Howard Kempka of Manitowoc and Mrs. Joseph Virgili of Reseda, Calif.; a brother, Peter of Two Rivers; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Braun and Miss Tressie of Two Rivers; 30 grandchildren and 67 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday where a memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m.
