Funeral of Julius Ulke
Funeral services for Julius Ulke, scientist, painter, photographer and for more than twenty years a draftsman in the land office, were held at the family residence this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. They were private in character and only a few friends in addition to the family were in attendance. The interment was in Rock Creek Cemetery.

Julius Ulke, scientist, a member of Professor Simon Newcomb’s party which went to Africa in 1882 to observe the transit of Venus, died at his home here Sunday night. He was 77 years old.

Julius Ulke’s Estate Left to Wife
The will of Julius Ulke was filed for probate today. His widow, Mrs. Helen Ulke, becomes the sole beneficiary of the estate. She also was named executrix. The will was dated December 19, 1907. Mr. Ulke was a resident of the city for over sixty years, the last forty years of which time he was a clerk in the general land office. At the time of his death, July 31, he was the oldest clerk in the land office.
