He was born July 8, 1928, in Klingerstown, a son of the late William and Hilda (Williams) Strohecker. On July 26, 1947, he married the former Lorene Bowman who survives.
Dale known as “Trucker” to his friends worked in a coal mine and shoe factory before he began driving truck for 40 years for Hanover Foods and H.F. Campbell before retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Millheim Lions Club and Spring Mills Fire Company.
Dale enjoyed hunting and going to Pickles Country Store for his morning coffee. Family time was what he valued most.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Ernie Klinger, of Klingerstown and Joyce and Gary Stine, of Millheim; one sister, June Kahler; two brothers, Paul, and Raymond; five granddaughters, Jody, Jamie, Nichole, Stephanie, and Jan; 10 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Joelle, Samantha, Aidan, Eli, Cassidy, Seth, Kyle, Kendra and Taylor; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Rue, and Leonard.
A visitation for Dale will held from 10 a.m. to noon today, with a Lions Club service at 11:45, at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, Millheim, followed by the funeral at noon with Pastor Jeff Mugridge officiating.
Dale will be laid to rest in the Centre County Memorial Park, State College.
