FATALLY INJURED WHILE AT WORK
James H. Cook, 49, of 2201 Moffat Ave., died at 3:30 p.m. yesterday at Memorial hospital where he was taken after he was injured at about 1:40 p.m. when accidentally struck on the head by a piece of construction equipment at the Sangamo Construction Co., 700 N. MacArthur Blvd., where he was employed. Fellow workers said that Cook was repairing a heavy piece of construction equipment when a handle slipped loose and hit him on the head.

Cook was born March 10, 1900 in Christian county. he had been a resident of this city for 21 years and had been an employee of the Sangamo Construction Co. for six weeks.

Surviving are his wife, Blanche; one daughter, Elsie Marie; parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Cook, city; two brothers, William Cook and Maxwell Cook, both of city; four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Watkins, city; Mrs. Mildred Sample, Roby; Mrs. Alpheda Curry, Dawson; and Mrs. Dorothy Rankins, Springfield.
