He was born March 6, 1923 in Saltville, VA, a son of the late Gola E. and Maxie Counts Arnold.
Mr. Arnold was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He lived in the Bristol area for most of his life and retired from Raytheon after 28 years of service.
Mr. Arnold was a member of Key Street Pentecostal Church. He was a gifted musician and enjoyed quality time with his brother Gola picking and grinning along with friend John Kinnick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Louise Arnold; and brother, Charles Henry Arnold.
Survivors include:
Three Sons: Richard Lee Arnold, David E. Arnold, James G. Arnold and wife Carolyn
Six Grandchildren and Nine Great Grandchildren
Three Sisters: Esther Bates, Peggy Fuller and Jeanette Keesee
Brother: Gola E. Arnold, Jr.
Several Nieces and Nephews
The funeral service for Mr. Arnold will be held at 8 pm, Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thurman Chapman officiating.
The committal service will be held at 1 pm on Friday at Mountain View Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Grunstra and Staff of hospice and nurses, Robin and Iris.
