Vera Lewis, 88, of Green River, Wyoming passed away at the Mission at Castle Rock on Saturday, March 28, 2015. A long time resident of Green River, Wyoming, Mrs. Lewis died following a lengthy illness.

She was born on April 21, 1926 in Danbury, Iowa, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Oberreuter.

Mrs. Lewis attended schools in Danbury and was a graduate of the Danbury Catholic High School.

She married Edward Oscar Lewis in Green River, Wyoming on November 20, 1946.

Mrs. Lewis was employed as a telegrapher for the Union Pacific Railroad for over forty years and retired in 1985.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a Eucharistic Minister at the church as well as the home bound.

Mrs. Lewis was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County and for Hospice of Sweetwater County.

Her interests included gardening and crafts. She also enjoyed spending time at their cabin with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Edward O. Lewis of Green River, Wyoming; one son Paul Lewis of Green River, Wyoming; one daughter Janice Lewis of Green River, Wyoming; one grandson Scott Lewis of Green River, Wyoming; one great-grandson Jakob Lewis of Green River, Wyoming.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; five sisters.
