Alonzo Wilkinson was a son of Solomon and Elizabeth "Betsy" Ray Wilkinson. He was born in Ross County, Ohio on July 2nd or 3rd, 1844 (His obituary and his parents' family Bible differ on the exact date). His parents moved the whole family to Stark County, IL when Alonzo was five years old.
He was married to Esther Thomas on March 4, 1874, and they first lived together on their farm near Toulon, Stark County, IL. In 1902, they moved to a farm near Wichita, Kansas, and seven years later moved to a farm near Dodge City, Kansas where they lived until their deaths. Esther died on February 5, 1922, and Alonzo died on March 9, 1923.
