Gerda K. Tilleskjor was born on February 24, 1905 in Alexandria, Minnesota, the daughter of Eric and Elsa Bergner. She graduated from Alexandria High School prior to her marriage to Hilary Tilleskjor on February 24, 1924. The couple lived in Minneapolis until 1972 when Gerda returned to Alexandria following Hilary's death. Gerda was active in her church and was an organizer in the WTCU. She enjoyed entertaining and was known as a gourmet cook. Gerda was also an active volunteer at Bethany Home for many years and had been recognized for her work there.
Gerda died at the Douglas County Hospital on May 25, 1993 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hilary; daughter Colleen; son Clyde; four brothers and two sisters.
Surviving Gerda are a son Gerald Tilleskjor of Alexandria; a daughter June Agostino of Duluth; one sister Martha of California; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Memorial services were held May 29, 1993 at the First Baptist Church of Alexandria with Rev. Robert Fredrickson officiating. Arrangements with Anderson Funeral Home.
