Gerald Tilleskjor was born July 18, 1925 in Alexandria, MN, the son of Hillary and Gerda (Bergner) Tilleskjor. Gerald was raised and schooled in Alexandria. Following his graduation Jerry joined the United States Navy and served aboard an aircraft carrier in the south Pacific. He was discharged in 1946.

On August 15, 1946 Jerry was united in marriage to Mildred Michaelson. The couple made their home in Alexandria and were blessed with two children, Steven and Larry. He worked for Michaelson Plumbing, a company that he later purchased from his father-in-law, Al Michaelson. Jerry renamed the company Alexandria Plumbing & Heating. Jerry was recalled to the US Navy during the Korean War where he served aboard a ship in the Atlantic Ocean. He was discharged again in 1954. In 1984 Jerry became partners with his son, Steven. In 1998 Jerry retired from Alexandria Plumbing & Heating. Two of Jerry's grandsons have followed in the footsteps of there father, grandfather and great grandfather with careers in the plumbing business.

Jerry enjoyed all kinds of hunting. He fished in the summer and winter. He also enjoyed the game of golf. Jerry's favorite hobby was his work; he really enjoyed the plumbing and heating business. Jerry's family was very important to him; he was proud of his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

On Friday, July 26, 2013 Jerry died at the age of eighty-eight years.

His parents; one son, Larry; one sister, Colleen Kramer; and one brother, Clyde Tilleskjor, preceded him in death.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Mildred Tilleskjor of Alexandria; son, Steven Tilleskjor and wife, Ann Marie, of Alexandria; daughter-law, Marjorie Tilleskjor; grandchildren, Jayson Tilleskjor and wife, Amy; Jeremy Tilleskjor, Stephanie Hahiberte, Richelle Fraser and husband, Eric and Jaclyn Steep and husband, Christopher; Sister, June Agostino and husband, Sam; and eight great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 10 AM Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Grace Church in Alexandria. Reverend Craig Dahl will officiate. Interment will follow in the Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria. Honorary pallbearers include Clair Tollifson, Clifford Peterson, Bob Nelson and Erwin McWilliams.
