AGED MOTHER CALLED HOME

Death of Mrs. Arminta Fuller Yesterday Bereaves Large Family

In the death of Mrs. Arminta Fuller, a brief notice of whose demise at 2:00 yesterday afternoon was made in yesterday's Citizen, is recognized as the passing of a sainted "Mother in Israel". Two weeks ago Monday, Mrs. Fuller had a slight stroke of paralysis followed on Thursday of the same week with a much more serious attack which paralyzed her entire right side and from the effects of which she gradually grew weaker until her death which occurred yesterday at her home 907 South Eighteenth street.

Death came peacefully and as the spark of life went out a beautiful smile was noticed on the face of the beloved mother as the bereaved family gathered about her bedside. For the last six days she had been unconscious except at brief intervals but the children and friends have a pleasant memory of the last word she spoke to them before she lapsed into unconsciousness. Calling her children to her she told them that the time had come for her to lay aside the duties of life and enter the blessedness of the world beyond the grave and that she would urge them to follow the teachings of their youth and live lives that would insure their reunion in heaven. Shortly before her death she sang her favorite hymns which will also be sung at her funeral and repeated the Lord's prayer. Her last words were the "Lord is my shepherd." Relatives think she knew when her death was to take place because at one time in a state of consciousness she attempted to say something but only the word " Wednesday" could be distinguished.

Mrs. Fuller was a very devout Christian and had lived a life of faith from her youth, her latter years being full of the richest religious experience. She had been faithful in teaching her children the principles of morality and religion and taught them both by example and precept. In religious belief she was a Baptist. Her one great pleasure was in reading the Bible which was her great source of comfort.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the First Baptist church in this city, being conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. W. White pastor of the First Baptist church. Mrs. Fuller has requested that three days intervene between her death and burial and also at her request her remains will be interred beside those of her father John Brough Sr. and her brother Jacob Brough, in the burying ground on the Hugh Baker farm near Brazil.

As Arminta Brough, Mrs. Fuller was born in Floyd county, Virginia, April 1835/26, making her age at death 69 years, 2 months and 14 days. She was married in Ohio, January 1, 1850, to Armintus Fuller who survives her. Together they came West and settled in Centerville on April 13, 1853. This city has ever since been their home and therefore, they were among the earliest settlers of the county who were living up to this time.

Mr. and Mrs. Fullers were parents of a large family of ten children all of whom are now living and grown to manhood and womanhood, there being five sons and five daughters. They are William J. Fuller, of Albia, born January 3, 1851; Mrs. Clara Barnthouse, born February 17, 1854; Mrs. Lenora Gilstrap, born January 10, 1857; Solomon A. Fuller, born April 18, 1859; Franklin Fuller, born December 8, 1862; Mrs. Rhoda May Truax, of Pine Bluff, Ark., born May 12, 1864; Mrs. Jessie I. Johnson, born December 24, 1867; Thomas J. Fuller born December 8, 1870; Mrs. Jennie Bills, of Shawville, born November 26, 1872; Edward B. Fuller, of Unionville, Iowa, born March 15, 1876.
