Helen Ethel Brimer was born January 9, 1871 at Montreal, Canada, the daughter of Andrew and Mary Brimer. The family moved to Sanborn, N. Dak., in 1881 where she received her education.
On November 16, 1894 she was united in marriage with Frank Gray at Valley City. They farmed near Hope, N. Dak., until 1917 when they moved to Oswego, Montana. Mr. Gray passed away there in 1925. Mrs. Gray moved back to Valley City and had made her home here since.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Alice) Reynolds of Pueblo, Col., and Mrs. Leslie (Grace) Cowen of Tower City, two sons; Andrew Gray of Redondo Beach, Cal., and Joseph Gray of Valley City. Two sisters, Mrs. Anna Gray of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Betty Lovelace of Oriska, N. Dak., 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. from Oliver's Chapel with Rev. Richard Unkenholz officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery at Sanborn. Arrangements are by Oliver's Chapel.
