Born in Rabun County on Oct. 16, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Willis Pinkney Kendrix and Cora Moore. She was preceded in death by two husbands, first to the late William Harold Smith, who died in 1985, and later to Marler T. Justus, who died in 2009.
She was retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of the Camp Creek Baptist Church for 45 years. She also was an avid animal lover and her cats and dogs adored her, too.
She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Southards Waters, and one stepdaughter, Sandra Justus Davis. Seven nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Gipson officiating. Burial followed in Rabun Memory Park Tiger.
