Born March 5, 1935 in Honey Grove, PA, he was the son of the late Nevin E. and Velma Grace (Swailes) Geedy.
Mr. Geedy served in the United Sates Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He later served in the Pennsylvania Reserves for four years.
He and his wife, the late Mrs. Effie C. (James) Geedy, were married September 19, 1989 in Orrstown, PA. She died on September 19, 1999.
Mr. Geedy was employed for the United Sates Forestry Service, working in lead, silver and gold mines in the Western U.S. and in uranium mines in New Mexico.
He is survived by three daughters, Vira Kimmel of Fannettsburg, PA, Velma Gamez of Chambersburg and Charlotte Piper of Mercersburg, PA; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Arlene Clever and Rhonda Geedy, both of Shippensburg, PA and Vira Geedy of Greenvillage, PA; three brothers, Cliff Geedy of Orrstown, Larry Geedy of Cross Keys, PA and Ronnie Geedy of Chambersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nevin Geedy, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 19, 2009 in the Salvation Army, 159 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg.
