Winterville - Jeanette Epps Smith, 81, died November 4, 2010.
A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of John Royal and Grace Blackmon Epps. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Smith; son, Bobby Lee Smith; brothers, Curtis Epps, Billy Ray Epps and Johnny Epps; sister, Imogene Drake; and grandchild, Bobbie Joe Smith. She was employed with Athens Country Club for thirty years and was a member of Winterville Baptist Church, where she active in the Silverhair, Keenage, and Lift Clubs, as well as Women on a Mission. She enjoyed traveling, especially into Canada, and taking cruises.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST, with Revs. Buford Lockman and Palmer Rehberg officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include two children, Janice Smith of Winterville and Ronnie (Lynn) Smith of Athens; grandchildren, Melissa Brown, Scott Smith, Jennifer Haller, Amanda Hall, David Hardegree and Morgan Archer; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
