Mrs. McAllister was a native of South Carolina but had made her home in Milledgeville for a number of years. She was employed by J.P. Stevens Company of Milledgeville some 23 years before resigning to enter nursing training to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed as an LPN in the Russell Building at Central State Hospital and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Miss Betsy McAllister of Milledgeville; two sons, Mr. Ronnie McAllister and Mr. Denny McAllister, both of Milledgeville; one sister, Mrs. Betty Layfield of Milledgeville; one brother, Mr. Jack Cox of Milledgeville, one half-sister, Mrs. Louise Ross of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; two half-brothers, Mr. George Cox of Pampaco, S.C. and Mr. Fred Cox of Alexandria, Virginia.
