Edna was born in Litchfield Park, AZ on September 12, 1937, the daughter of Grace Ruby (Dodson) and Arthur Venson Tankersley. She passed away on February 4, 2021 surrounded by family at her residence.
Edna grew up in Arizona. She married the love of her life William Alvin “Bill” Holland on August 4, 1953 in Phoenix, AZ. In the 50’s, Bill and Edna returned to Leon after his discharge from the United States Army. Bill preceded her in death on April 7, 1997. Edna enjoyed reading, singing, dancing, and playing Yahtzee, which became a nightly ritual. She was a comical, lighthearted, and sweet lady that loved to aggravate her family. Edna’s spunky and feisty attitude kept the girls on their toes. She was very generous and always wanted to support her family emotionally and financially. Although Edna had many interests, her favorite was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Edna was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Holland.
Survivors include her daughters, Gracie Akers and husband Russell, Pam Griffin and husband Carl, and Kay Holland all of Ardmore; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Serving as casket bearers are Russell Akers, Michael Ford, Billy Wymack, Robbie Holland, Josh Cartwright, and Kevin Caceres. Honorary bearers are Allen Shadden, Tommy Holland, Larry Floyd, Rodney Fann, James Charles, and Danny Shadden.
