Bryon R. McCoy, 89, of the Pleasant Hill vicinity of Jackson Township, died at the County Memorial Hospital at 4 p.m. Tuesday, following an extended illness.

Born Aug. 6, 1890, in Jackson Township, he was a son of Allen G. and Zebra (Reed) McCoy. He was married June 2, 1914 to Beulah Haines, who died in 1972. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Robert (Mary) Norris, Coshocton, Rt. 1, a brother Lewis of Fresno, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Two sons, William and Harry McCoy, a daughter Ruth, and a great grandchild are deceased.

McCoy was a farmer and coal miner for years, having operated a mine on his farm in Jackson Township. He belonged to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Farm Bureau Council and Bethlehem Grange.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and until time of services Friday.
