Service: 1 p.m. Saturday March 21, 2015 at the Granbury Church of Christ. Interment: Asbury Cemetery in Tolar. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 20 at the funeral home in Granbury.
Grovina was born Feb. 11, 1927 in Throckmorton to Grover Cleveland and Maude Ann Davis Oxford. Her mother passed away when Grovina was five and William “Bill” and Bessie Nash Kinson raised her and her two siblings. They preceded her in death. At 17, Dr. Ballard began training her in the medical field.
After her husband, L.B. Fry was injured, Grovina went to school to get her nursing license at All Saints Hospital to help support her family. She spent the next 30 plus years in health care.
She served others in the community by cooking, making quilts, crocheting, knitting and providing transportation. Grovina was preceded in death by her brother, Derl Oxford; mother, Maud Oxford; sister, Bonita Ann Morrison; father, Grover Oxford; husband, L.B. Fry; and great grandson, Gabe Besserman.
Survivors: Children, Neila Johnson and husband Doug of Midland, Ben Fry and wife Tammy of Ennis and Kevin Fry and wife Angie of Port Aransas; grandchildren, D’Neil Blake and husband Michael, Kailee Johnson, Brendon Fry and wife Sarah, Jonathan Fry and Buzz Fry and wife Morgan; great-grandchildren, Bryce Fry, Katahrina Munoz and Isabel Munoz.
