MATTOON - Anna Mae Sparks , age 97, of Mattoon, IL and formerly of Woodbury and Toledo, IL passed away at 10:10 am on Monday August 23, 2010 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, IL.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be at 12:00 pm on Thursday August 26, 2010 at the Toledo Christian Church 501 S. Maryland St. Visitation will be from 10:00 till service time on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery. Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo is in charge of arrangements.

Anna was born on September 8, 1912 in Cord, Ark. the daughter of Otto and Jennie (Gaines) Orand. She married Jesse William Sparks on June 29, 1946 and he preceded her on 2004.

Surviving is her daughter Barbara husband Don Wisner of Mattoon, IL. Grandchildren Tony (Cherie) Van Note of New York, Raymond (Tammy) Van Note of Mississippi, Steve Van Note of Arizona, Kurt Wisner of Springfield, IL, Step grandchild Doris Ann Gooden of Georgia. Great Grandchildren Jesse and Ryan Van Note and Kurt Wisner Jr. Step great grandchildren Russell and Hope and 3 step great great grandchildren.

Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Roberta Ruth Van Note, one grandson Tim Van Note and 3 sisters and one brother.

Anna Mae was a homemaker and retired from Brown Shoe Company in Mattoon, IL. She taught Sunday school and Bible Study for more than Fifty years, she is a member of the Toledo Christian Church, past member of Home Extension and Domestic Science.

Memorials in her name can be made to the Mattoon First Christian Church Building Fund 1600 Wabash Ave. Mattoon, IL 61938.
