Born in Lamar County, a son of Claude L. & Willie Gandee Barbee, he worked as a farmer & was a caddy at the Paris Golf & Country Club. He was a member of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers & 2 sisters.
Surviving are a brother, Herschel Barbee of Paris; 2 sisters, Ruth Smith & Tollie Stone, both of Paris.
