G.H. BRAUN, 61, PLANT EMPLOYEE, DIES SUDDENLY. Former Eden Farmer Expires At Family Home; Rites To Be In St. Joseph’s. George H. Braun, 61, a lifelong resident of the county and an employe of the Stella Cheese company the last nine years, died unexpectedly Saturday night, at his home, 68 Adams street. He had not been ill presently. A son of Peter and Julia Herbert Braun, Mr. Braun was born March 27, 1890, in the Town of Eden and was married Sept. 17, 1921, to Elizabeth Smith, the ceremony having been performed in St. Mary’s church at Eden by the late Rev. George J. Hegeman. Mr. Braun had been a member of St. Joseph’s church in this city the last five years and also belonged to the Holy Name society of the parish, to the Fathers club of St. Mary’s Springs academy and to the Catholic Order of Foresters. Prior to becoming associated with the Stella Cheese company, Mr. Braun operated a farm at Eden. Surviving are Mrs. Braun and two sons, Robert, a student at St. Lawrence college, Mt. Calvary, and Warren, who attends St. Mary’s Springs academy, two daughters, Mary Ann and Jane, pupils in St. Joseph’s school; three sisters, Mrs. M.D. Klotz, city, Mrs. Floyd Carr, Eden, and Mrs. Thomas J. Meade, Sr., Campbellsport; and three brothers, Edward and Nicholas, Eden, and Martin, city. A brother, Albert, died in 1950. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. at the Hardgrove and Gordon funeral home and at 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph’s church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery at Eden.
