Booton, bedfast with cancer, is enjoying an air -conditioner these hot days, thanks to the thoughtfulness of the congregation at Union Park Methodist Church; Cub, Boy and Girl Scout troops, and the parent -teacher organizations at Cattell Elementary School and Warren Harding Junior High School.
These groups, on the first hot day this summer, decided to buy the air -conditioner for Mrs. Booton. It took only two days to raise $300 for the machine.
The Booton's of 3010 York St., and their three children have long been active in church, Scout and school activities.
The air -conditioner was supplied at cost by Norbert Daman, owner of the Daman Refrigeration Co., and installed by Ralph Marquis, an electrician. Both are members at Union Park.
