Deane was born in Mount Vernon, Ark., on June 16, 1935, the eldest child of Melvin D. and Dollie May Phillips McNinch, a farmer, construction worker and moonshiner and his hard-working wife.
Deane is survived by five children, Brenda (Russell) Miller and Linda (Troy) Henderson of Peoria, Ill., Benjamin (Tiffani) Koontz and Mary (Martin) Kimble of Peoria Heights, Ill., and John Koontz of Washington, Ill. Deane is also survived by two brothers, Farrell and David of Arkansas; three sisters, Rita May Milne of Washington, Ill., Sharon Kay McNinch of the Chicago area and Shirley Jean Green of Arkansas; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Loved ones that welcome her home include her parents and three sisters, Mary Elaine Graham, Betty Lou Brantley and Aline McNinch.
Deane attended Quitman High School in Quitman, Ark., and Brown Business College in Peoria, Ill.
Deane raised her five children in Faulkner County, Ark., and Peoria, Ill. She was a waitress at Clark's Cafe in the north end of Peoria for many years and retired from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
She was a member of the Lutheran church.
Deane especially enjoyed fishing, gardening and the outdoors and shared her hobbies with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren every chance she had. Her favorite place to be was at home in Faulkner and Cleburne counties in Arkansas, where her family came from, being of Scots-Irish and Cherokee descent.
No funeral service will be held, as per Deane's wishes. Her remains will be cremated.
