Gerald R. Hoover, age 55, of Harrisburg, died Sunday, October 13, in Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. He was born on September 29, 1947 in Roaring Spring, PA to Leroy and Ruth Hoover. He was a retired teacher of the Central Dauphin School District. He was a graduate of Central High School in Martinsburg, PA; Elizabethtown College and did graduate work at Penn State, Harrisburg. He was a member of Ridgway Community Church of the Brethren, Harrisburg, President of CDEA for 2 years and President of Dauphin County Cornating Council; member of Central Dauphin Education Association; member of National Education Association and PA State Education Association for Retired Teachers. He was an Eagle Scout and an avid fan of Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was also a collector of stamps and baseball cards and also enjoyed volunteering in his wife's classroom.
