Catherine Ensor Ahrens with Second Time Around Parents
Catherine Ensor Ahrens, 55, of Media, a real estate salesperson for Hibberd Real Estate of Media, died Feb. 20 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
Born and reared in Massachusetts, Mrs. Ahrens lived in Media nearly 15 years. Earlier, she made her home in the Baltimore area. She was employed by Hibberd Real Estate for the last six years.
A long time member of the Covenant Reformed Episcopal Church, Media, she was a former secretary of the Vestry. Mrs. Ahrens also belonged to the Second Time Around Parents Group of Family and Community Services.
A past president of the Quaker City Yacht Club Women's Auxiliary, Philadelphia, she was a person who was devoted to her family and her home.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Thomas C. Ahrens; three sons, Mark D. Ahrens of Media, Robert T. Ahrens of Baltimore and James M. Ahrens of Delaware; a daughter, Tracie A. Ahrens of Media; her step-father, Douglass Verder of Apopka, Fla.; three sisters, Jane MacIntosh of Billerica, Mass., Ruth Verder of Townsend, Md. and Barbara Goodwin of Rindge, N.H.; two brothers, David Ensor of East Littleton, Colo. and Gary Verder of Lunenburg, Mass. and 11 grandchildren.
A Memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Hagan, Rigby and Harting Funeral Home, 15 E. 4th St., Media, where there is a calling hour from noon Tuesday.
