Andrew Lamar Black 91 of Waverly, Alabama passed away at home, Monday March 16, 2015. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday March 20, 2015 at Loachapoka Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 12:00- 1:00 PM in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home. Mr. Black was born March 25, 1923 to H.G. and Rosa Lee Black. He is survived by his wife Alene, five sons, Andrew Lamar Jr. of Waverly, Gary (Jennie) Black of Auburn, Joel (Ellen) Black of Waverly, Jeff (Amy) Black of Hartselle, Scott (Rachael) Black of Auburn, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister, Nell Moore; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members. Mr. Black proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II (1942-1945). He retired from Auburn University after 37 years of service with the fisheries department.
