Ruby "Marie" Haupt, 101 of Jackson passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born December 8, 1916, in Tilsit, daughter of Charles H. and Ida Valle Daume, Sr. She and Joe Edward Haupt were married October 24, 1941. He passed away October 18, 2004.
Marie was baptized and confirmed at St. James United Church of Christ in Tilsit, Missouri.
Marie attended Jackson schools and later attended Southeast Missouri Business School.
She and her husband established Haupt Photography Studio in Jackson, Missouri, and took photos for over 30 years before retiring in 1980.
Marie was a member of the gardening club and it was obvious how much happiness she had while tending to her pride and joy.
Survivors include three siblings, Ruth Meier of Perryville, Missouri, Ethel Hall of Oro Valley, California and Melbert Daume of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Amanda Daume, her loving husband; two brothers, Charles Daume and Edward Daume; and two sisters, Allegra Wendel and Margaret Puchbauer.
Visitation will be Friday, January 19, 2018 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Ford and Sons Funeral Home Mt. Auburn in Cape Girardeau with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating.
Burial will be at St. James united Church of Christ, Tilsit, Missouri.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. James united Church of Christ Cemetery Fund Tilsit, Missouri.
