In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Pat, Nettie, and Gail, and brother, Jack.
She was retired from Western Carolina Center and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Laura is survived by her children, Steve Smith and wife, Heike of Danbury , NC, Tim Smith and wife, Lisa of Morganton, and Sandy Sain and husband, Rick of Vale; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kitty, Nancy, Vickie, and Nina; and brothers, Mack and Dickie Felmet. Left to cherish her memory is her special friend and care giver, her ”sunshine”, Daphine Huffman.
Everyone will miss her love and laughter, but Laura’s legacy will live on through the love that she gave to her family and all that knew her.
A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
